Karl, the Americans have a great interest in the early recorded sound, and although some different ways of recording had been found, it was American Thomas Edison who discovered ways of re-producing the recorded sound.
When we think of all these genius's and clever inventors, we music lovers have a lot to thank these people for.

Absolutely L&H and if the pioneers of sound could hear today's systems they would be amazed.

What fascinating posts Lena and Harry, tinged of course with great sadness for your loss.
What an absolutely interesting life Frank had in the name of music.

Those pioneers would be amazed Karl, and yet Frank could never quite come to terms that this is the way to listen to music now. He still thought that live singing on a stage was the proper way of being entertained and was always critical of acoustics being used.
He knew all the old songs and monologues and so did the kids. Some quite risqué too.
They all certainly have their own choices of music now though.
Thanks very much Sandra. Today would have been their 62nd wedding Anniversary.
Katy, their daughter had a funeral on a scale like no other we have attended. Little did we expect another one so soon, but life has to go on and so far my Sister Wyn is coping really well.

Thanks to all for your kind comments.
Frank had a great send off yesterday from us family members and his Music Society members giving Eulogy's.
As you say John, he will be missed. As we all know only too well on this forum what it's like to lose a loved family member.

The MM forum will die out without the regulars............we don't have many new members any more either .............Marian and Mariana missing since early September ............John and Henry missing since August (I know Henry has been unwell) ..........Gray and Paul hardly ever............the end could be nigh :!: ..................only 5 or 6 members join in now, from time to time ............................................... :!:

Hi everyone --

I've been trying to read many of the postings. But this new format is really difficult to use with my wonderful blackberry.

I hope the MM forum stays around. I've learned so much from it and met so many special folks. I guess our lives have gotten too busy for us to post regularly.
