I suppose I should know what Harry and Lena's FNIMN is- but it escapes me at the moment--as does IINSAS.

Have you noticed though how we have become initial mad for some irritating reason. When we first heard that someone had received an A.S.B.O we'll keep it to ourselves what we thought it was

Sorry for the initialisms! We do that often in the chart forums I frequent. It's just easier than writing the full title.

Back to David Jacobs's programme: what a lovely instrumental of All The Things You Are he played. I have to hear that again. :)

Wel, we didn't thinK you'd know about T.T.F.N. Robert. That was one of the sayings on Tommy Handley's weekly radio show from the Forties, generally from the cleaner Mrs Mopp of .. CAN I DO YOU NOW SIR. fame

Hi Lena & Harry
From its early days as an abbreviation in capitals,
Asbo has become a word in its own right. It will
probably lose its initial capital letter eventually
and find a home in the OED. It goes to show that
language is a living, developing entity. (I think
we can guess what you first thought it meant.)

We were going to run a competition as to who could guess correctly. Like Mae West Keith we used to be Snow White, but we drifted.

I think Jimmy Young used TTFN at the end of his radio shows  :)

I think that TTFN went back long before the Jimmy Young Show days
Wasn't it used in ITMA?? Another set of initials - It's That Man Again, with Tommy Handley.

We seem to have wandered off subject somewhat again! and I remember talking briefly about abbreviations elsewhere, but has anyone mentioned the one we used to put on the backs of letters to our 'sweethearts..'
S.W.A.L.K.
You'll all know what that one means.

L & H
An advantage of being in the autumn of life
is that we are allowed to shed a few inhibitions.
However, I fear your risque competition might
end up in the slush pile.
