Not really Marian, it first began with curiousity checking back on a particular tape that we kept of Eric Hall when he was talking of Al Martino and played his song and remembering that Matt was also played on the tape and if it happened to be "The Shadow Of Your smile."
It wasn't so I checked back on David's thread and Hey Presto.!!! :lol:

David is 83, and does make a few mistakes. Tonight he played the song You Are My Lucky Star by a singer unknown to me, but after he played the song he said the song was written for Eleanor Powell in the Broadway Melody of 1936............. when in fact it was Frances Langford who sang the song in that film :roll:

A BIG surprise, David is currently playing one of Matts greatest recordings RAIN SOMETIMES, I don't think I have heard DJ play this wonderful song before :) :)

We both 'dropped off' and missed the Matt part!
Is it me or do you have to 'listen again' to the whole programme now.
You used to be able to forward,five,ten or fifteen minutes before they updated the BBC site?

As I recall, there is a little "bar" at the bottom, that you can move along, to skip further along.

Having a slight tidy-up, I have come across some minidisc recordings of a 3-part David Jacobs tribute to Matt broadcast on the BBC in January 2001 (thank goodness minidiscs encode the date and time of recording!).
I think I have some listening to do........ :P
