Shows may get rave reviews, but nobody knows if the shows are any good until you have seen it yourselves

We have rarely been disappointed with the shows that we've seen Robert but we saw The Pirates Of Penzance with the Carl Rosa Company( doesn't get much better than that) last October at the Wimbledon Theatre. Wonderful voices and this is what this kind of show is about in particular but none of us in our company could hear the words very well even though we had good seats. Couldn't blame it on deafness either. :D

I rarely ever purchase the souvenir booklets, because they are expensive and usually just sit in a box at home. The best memories remain in my head.

If I don't like a show (e.g., Kiss Of The Spiderwoman), I discard the programme a few days after the show.

Regarding Marian's comment: "That's one thing we have that is more impressive than on the other side of the Atlantic, our beautifully presented show brochures." I would have to say that everything regarding music and theatre is better and more impressive on your side of the Atlantic: sheet music stores, record stores, musicals, plays, classical concerts, music programmes on TV, and radio stations. :) 8)

Carly Simon took Elaine Paige's place on Radio 2 on Sunday.
However, for those of you who listen to Elaine's show, she is back on Sunday and Connie Fisher is her guest. 1 o'clock -2.30pm.

Just dug this one out from the depths of The Lounge to say Connie Fisher has just been interviewed on "This Morning".
She is in "The Sound of Music" until the 23rd of February, and then leaves to do a one off drama programme for TV.
She couldn't give much away but there is comedy and some music involved.
Connie also said she has been working on a Maria/Joseph special for Christmas time with Lee Mead. Something to look forward to I should think.

I saw Connie recently bring interviewed and she was saying that she was really looking forward to doing some comedy--I wonder who is taking over from her--one of the other "Maria's" maybe.

I did post earlier [maybe on the Joseph Page] about the Christmas show that Connie and Lee are doing--sounds great !
