Of course they have a few bevvies Marian, and whatsmore it's their own way of relaxing and winding down after a show, their own money they are spending, and most importantly of all their own damned business.
Also, how certain stories start is one thing, but they become very much like a dog with a bone, that won't let go.

Russell's programme this evening was to talk about D.richard Vosburgh, the comedy writer and lyricist who has just passed away.
Talking of his involvement with Rodgers and Hart's music Russell then talked about "The Rare Monro" and the work involved on this double CD from Michele and Richard Moore. He played Matt's "Blue Moon" :lol
: A great programme of songs all our favourites Perry Como Vic Damone. the brilliant Noel Coward and Ella

Yes L&H, a really interesting programme tonight :D :D you took the words from my keyboard tonight, as I was going to mention "Blue Moon" Michele and Richard

Vic Damone sounded very young singing the lovely "Laura" but I really like Vic's voice, sooooooooooooo smooth 8) we even heard Sarah Vaughn singing the words "chapter one" instead of "chaperone" during another song (I forget which song) but a good show, as usual :)

There's been some great music played today, "Aren't You Kind of Glad We Did" was Sarah Vaughan's song Robert.
Vic Damone was always up there with the best of the crooners of that era, and Perry Como's "Without A Song" one of the best versions of that number.

Thanks for the information L&H 8) David Jacobs has always liked Vic Damone, hasn't he 8) but I don't think Vic was ever as commercially successful, as other well known crooners from that time were. He is not a household name to most people, like the Franks, Nats and Perrys of this world are. I agree L&H, Perry Como singing "Without a Song" was outstanding 8)

Well it's opinions again but we beg to differ there Robert , Vic Damone was classed as the best by millions.

Health problems have probably prevented him recording in recent years.

I agree Lena and Harry, Vic Damone was always up there with the best of them. I believe he used to tour over here regularly for many years.
He has an excellent website on http://vicdamone.com

Yes Vic Damone recorded some good songs, thanks to Lena and Harry I have been listening to him quite a lot recently. Wasn't he married to Diahann Carroll at one time?
I also agree about Perry Como's version of Without A Song, he used to sing this alot on his concerts.

Going back to my post. I know we, and many other easy listening music fans know and love Vic Damone, but the ordinary Joe in the streets might not have heard of hime before, especially the younger people   but EVERYONE, including the youngsters of today will have heard of Frank, Dean, Nat and Perry   that's what I was trying to point out.
