Did you all think you were going to escape the Royal |Wedding on this Forum ??

Well, I intend to watch it tomorrow.

It is hard to believe it is 30 years since Prince Charles and Princess Diana married.

I was in America at the time---a group of us had been to see Johnny Mathis in concerts, in Griffin Park, Los Angeles---a lovely open air theatre, but on the day of the wedding, we were due to fly from LA for a few days stay in Las Vegas. We arrived in Vegas about midnight---temperature of 90 degrees still, , checked ourselves in , and rushed up to our rooms , switched on the Tv and watched the
wedding from start to finish--not quite sure what time we went to bed---or even if we did.!! It was all quite surreal, and absolutely unforgettable.

Well, lwe won't be escaping it Marian and along with millions, we are looking forward to this fantastic day.
The crowds are gathering in the Mall and at Westminster Abbey and tonight Prince William came out to meet the crowds outside Clarence House. Just unfortunate we cant make it ourselves.
The weather doesn't look too promising but we wish both Prince William and Kate all the happiness in the world and hope everyone has a great day and enjoys this fantastic occasion.

We'll be watching too. I was up at 6 this morning and have the tv on already!

I was up too Marian, the all night campers along the route are up and about and cheering. It's a day for remembering who and what us true Brits are really about and to have something to smile about for a change. People all over rhis country and many others, America in particular are so excited about this wedding, and many organised parties everywhere are already in full swing.
Fingers crossed the rain holds off .

All went wonderfully. Loved Kate's dress, hair, everything, and William looked so dashing in his uniform...and the rain kept off too!
The sun is out here now, so hopefully we might get 'the kiss' in sunshine!

The wedding was beautiful-a real life Fairy Tale.

I was watching the wdding in my friends house, and her granddaughter showed me the t-mobile royal wedding ad--it was very clever and very funny---I could not find a link, but if you search on Royal wedding t mobile, you should get there--it is only a couple of minutes -but worth seeing.

I woke up at 5am to watch it. Really beautiful. It was neat that she arrived at the abbey exactly at 11am.

Loved all the music and so pleased they walked out to Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance March #5.

I wonder if US coverage had different music dubbed on? They actually walked out to William Walton's "Crown Imperial" march!

Yes, that's correct Richard. In fact I don't recall hearing the Pomp and Circumstance March at all today, even from the crowds lining the route, which surprised us.

The ABC anchor Diane Sawyer said they would be walking out to the Elgar march. I was so excited to hear Elgar mentioned on a US network that I didn't realize that it was in fact Crown Imperial which is one of my very favorite marches.

The American telecasts often played Pomp and Circumstance March #4 in the background, so I got my Elgar fix there.

What a wonderful occasion the Royal Wedding was ...........Kate looked stunning in the dress, I loved her look when she had the veil down when entering Westminster Abbey.......... full of mystique and beauty, in fact she was gorgeous (her younger sister Pippa was stunning too) .................I also loved the way Kate bowed her head, each time William saluted on the coach ride going to Buckingham Palace after the wedding

Yes, it was a really nice day Robert, just a heart stopping moment whem Wiliam placed the ring on Kate's finger, but once over the knuckle it was fine.
Some nice outfits worn by most of the guests, but some were attrocious, and of course the camera caught the usual sour faced Victoria Beckam looking as though she had just sucked a lemon, and as always hancuffed to David for fear he might run away.
We loved the departure from Bucks House in Dad's Aston Martin with the JU5TWED number plate and L plate and balloons. Harry's idea of course.
The honeymoon is on hold, but probably a time for them both to relax and reflect on the day that put a smile on so many faces.

All of the above and more The whole day was magnificent

I just saw parts of it on the news, and I agree, it was lovely. I thought Kate looked beautiful.
