Evocative Musical Memories

Post by jon » Fri May 20, 2011 2:38 pm

Not sure if we've done a thread on this before. I wondered if members would like to name one or two songs or pieces of music that have a particular meaning for them that evoke poignant memories of important events/times in their lives, whether these be marriage, first love, disappointment etc.

Three of mine would be:

Todd Rundgren: I Saw The Light
Lynsey de Paul: Sugar Me.
Derek and the Dominos: Layla.

I can give only one really memorable one at the moment but I'll also give you the reason why.
HOME TOWN - Flanagan and Allen
As a very young child my mum used to take me to Kennard's in Croydon when we visited her sister in London. They had pony rides in the shop which I loved, and one of the most played tunes as the ponies walked round was Home Town. I always rode the same pony - Bella. :D

Others, probably ..
THE GOLDEN AGE - Terry Dene
HERE COMES SUMMER - Jerry Keller
