Read All About It.

Post by Lena & Harry Smith » Sun Mar 18, 2012 1:52 am

Very little to cheer us up where the news is concerned these days, but one snippet of Jeremy Clarkson's article in the newspaper today gave us something to think about, and smile.
He said that new research by a bunch of vegetablist kill joys has discovered that if you eat more than one-and-a-half ounces of red meat a day you will die early.
The message is clear. "Eat nuts and leaves " and you'll live to be a hundred.
Or to put it another way. " Don't do anything that's fun when you are young and you'll live long enough to experience the delights of arthritis, deafness, dementia, pain, incontinence, and being in a crappy old peoples home all by yourself, for 23 hours a day. :D

What a load of ****, they say anything. So how come our parents lived to a good age when meat was the staple diet?

Too much of anything is bad for you, everything in moderation.

What's the bet if you ate a ton of vegetables a day lthey would find something wrong with that too!!!!

Well, I could sit and feel quite guilty now, knowing that I fed my mum with all the food that she enjoyed. Suet puddings, full breakfasts Milk puddings, etc, instead of leaves and nuts. She died at the age of 96, and to think with this advice she may have lived to 116.

Well Lena you did good, 96 is a great old age!

If we followed all the advice given we'd be too scared to eat anything!

Now who's for a good helping of steak & kidney pie? :)

i did hear a little on this discussion, and what I heard was that the meat in the Uk is allright, but the meat in USA is not --I do not know why that was.

I dunno guys, I'm a meat eater, but tend to go for the lean cuts (doctor's advice and stuff) but in moderation. Pretty soon they are going to say poultry and seafood is bad for you too. Did you know that fish cost more than beef and pork? Before it was the other way around.
