Remembering JFK - The Day He Died

Remembering JFK - 50th Anniversary of his Death
Tonight I am watching the 2-hour NBC Special..."Where Were You: The Day JFK Died" - Reported by Tom Brokow

I was just opening my Drug Store in the morning & playing "Big Band Music" in the background.
One of my customers came rushing in asking me to turn on my TV..."Somebody killed the President!"
I watched in disbelief at Walter Cronkite tearfully announcing our President's death
I closed the store early that day in shock and comforting my wife at home....A very sad day....

Any of our forum members remember where they were or what they were doing when they heard the news??

I can remember exactly where I was and who told me, my dad.

That was a terrible day. The tv here has been full of the anniversary too.

I think almost everyone remembers when they heard that awful news---I was just going into my living room, and my husband came out, and said that the President had been shot.

There have been lots of commemorative programmes over here, some of which I have taped--plus last night on Radio, a 3 hour long minute by minute commentary, by todays newsreaders of the whole event--not had chance to listen to that either.

I was too young so don't remember JFK (only on the evening news) ..............but I do remember vividly when Robert Kennedy was killed :( :(
