Interval of fiddler

Post by maxine » Sat Mar 29, 2014 10:33 pm

Loving Paul Michael flasher in fiddler on the
Roof! No he's not
The singer of the century but his performance
Heartfelt sincere and he brings the spirit
Of the film ...lovely lovely performances
I love it ... X. Some women were slagging him
Off in the ladies ... No presence .. Rubbish blah
Blah ... Well they are not watching the same
Show as us ... He doesn't deserve that .. Bless him
No he is not a singer ... But then topol wasn't
Either .....
Softly, I will leave you softly
For my heart would break if you should wake and see me go.....

I love the production...lots of women teary which is good because i was too ....there was some ladies who said how great Paul was....he didn't over play it and we all agreed he played it just right....which cheered me up after hearing some women not enjoying the show....they moaned so much i was very tempted to say ...why don't you go home then? .... :? ...oh well horses for courses as the saying goes....i cried when the scene of Tevyers daughter and himself were saying goodbye to each other....Marian i know you like that song....The whole production was so lovley ...i would happily sit through it again. ....so sorry about the spelling mistake! ive made myself laugh.....

I'm sure Paul Michael Glaser would also laugh at his new name Maxine!

Glad you enjoyed the show, I saw it some months ago.

I agree Paul played his role humbly, however I'm sure if you met him Maxine he would have been fine. I met Walter Matthau outside the Albert Hall and he was so nice, a perfect gentleman. He happily signed autographs and had a little chat with me

Aww that's great Maxine, though probably if I had met him I'd be a stuttering idiot like I was a record signing for David Cassidy back in 1990.. LOL It's a good thing I had someone with me who did the talking!!

So lovely to read about your visit to "Fiddler"-I would have loved to see it, but it was just impossible.

the role of Tevye is more acting than singing, so all the great Tevyes in the past-- Topol, and Alfie Bass--plus the original, whose name escapes me, are primarily actors.

Yes, i still love that song--plus another ong which is rarely heard "Miracle of Miracles" , with Hodl and her new husband.

Yes, he was also my favourite from "Starsky and Hutch" never missed it. Funny how David Soul became the singer.

Maxine I saw Marti Pellow in The Witches Of Eastwick when I was in Bristol, then more latterly at home in Jekyll & Hyde. Both were good but I liked Witches the best, Marti's voice is fantastic.

Evita was here a few weeks ago but I've seen it twice already years ago.

Who is Marti Pellow playing in "Evita" -Love that musical, saw it on London with Staphanoe Lawrence--I do not know if you saw Maxine, when I wrote that my friends and I were were invited into her dressing room for tea. She still had her death-make up on, so it was quite bizarre. I have some photos somewhere-I will try and find them.

My lovely late friend Sandy, used to follow Marti Pellow around, and one day she phoned to tell me that tomorrow she was going to see Marti in Chicago. Well, i thought she meant the town in US !!!!!! So I said hope you have a good flight etc etc, till it dawned on us both !
