WHAT A DAY !

Post by mariana44 » Thu Apr 03, 2014 11:01 pm

I am so glad this day is almost over. How can so many things go wrong in one day.

It started with me waiting for the builder to come at 10.00 to see to my repointing. 1.00 astill not arrived, so as I was due to go out, I phoned him to see qwhat the problem was--he had me down as a 3.00 call.

Tried phoning the dog groomers--the earliest they could see to the dogs is April 30th. they need doing NOW !

Spoke to my sister again, she is still really unwell. Nothing I can do as I just cannot get up there.

Almost flooded the bathroom and kitchen, by leaving the bathroom tap on, with the plug in !!!!

Cooked some chicken for my tea, had one tiny piece and I have been violently sick all evening. Just tried a yoghurt to see if that would settle me before I went to bed, but no, exacxtly the same !!

The last straw-i went into my spare room to settle the cat down for the night--to find Harry has lknocked my book case over, and every single book is on the floor !!! that was 10 minutes ago. I have had enough !!!

Roll on tomorrow !!

Thanks Maxine and Sandra---I had to go downstairs at 2.00 in the morning becuase I felt so ill, but managed to go back up at 3.00, and got off to sleep then.

So, I am determined not to get angry or stressed today--but what is the first thing to happen--or not happen--no builder---over an hour late. I am trying so hard not to get upset, but it is not easy !!!!

Feeling sorry for you Marian. So many things going wrong for you all at once, and what can we say about builders that hasn't already been said.
Sometimes feeling sick,...some glucose ...like Lucozade can help, although I'm a strong believer in the old fashioned "Andrews Liver Salts." I call it my miracle cure, specially for indigestion. We are never without it.
So Harry is in the doghouse. !!! Isn't it generally Chloe .
I know it's easy to say, but try to relax today.

Well, the builder did not come !! Why advertise in the local news, make appopintments, then not turn up. ?? They all say yjr sdame---oh we're really busy right now---but that will not always be so, and they may regret all the customers they put off and let dpwn.

Howeber, I am feeling a little better now. Just caught up on some sleep. Sp hope I will be back to normal for my big datew on Tuesday !!!

No, i am not happy with Harry, but I think he had a nasty fright, and he is very quiet today.

My doc actually said flat lemonade ...i thought it was a myth but she suggested it and i must say it helped me
i was really ill about 2 Christmases ago..really ill ...stomach flu i think they call it and this really helped for some reason ...small sips it gave back a bit of energy...and the old chemist remedy Collis Brown is very good too ...hope you are feeling bettter Marian .....i always cry when I'm sick ...so i empathise ..and as for the builder .. :?

Oh believe me. there have been tears. I have had trouble even keeping water down, so not sure of those other remedies would help. But I will certainly try next time. Thanks !

Marian I think you need to calm yourself down, sounds like nerves in your stomach, try having a glass of brandy - -purely for medicinal purposes you understand?!!!!

By the way how did a cat bring down a book case, is it built like Hercules?

Sorry to hear about all this Marian, you have had a nightmare week again. At least you have something to look forward to on Tuesday, I guess you are getting very excited now.

Harry's a dog Karl!

Hope you are feeling better Marian.
Speaking of people who don't turn up, there some that do. I've just a great experience with a parcel delivery today. I was emailed yesterday to say it would be delivered today and if that wasn't convenient I could make another time when I would be in. Then this morning I received another email to say my package would be delivered between 13.09 and 14.09 and a google map to show the position of the delivery vehicle, which I could look at anytime to see where it was and how far away it was from my house. Wonderful, even told me the name of the driver! He arrived spot on at 13.25. I give the delivery firm Full Marks for excellent service. :D

feeling a little better. Been feeling a little better. Just had dry toast and herbal tea today.

I agree i am very excited about tomorrow, and also about Tuesday of course. With all the extra stress I had this week, particularly at the beggining of the week, i guess it was just too much.

And yes, Marian's right. Harry is my dog. he is just a cairn terrier, not that big, but he is solid and really packs a punch.

Marian it's the way Marian worded that post about going into the room to settle the cat only to find Harry had knocked the bookcase over, I have enough trouble keeping track of all the kids names in the family without remembering Marians pets. BY that I mean my second cousin's kids down in Exeter.

I used to laugh (in a nice way) at my granny when she got her daughters names wrong, calling my aunt my mum's name instead of her own. I am now prone to that myself calling my nephews each other's names but at least I realise I've done it, I'll start worrying when I don't.
