DOG PUT DOWN BY MISTAKE

I just read a family are devastated after their Jack Russell was put down by mistake when it was taken to the vet's.

The dog had a cough and the antibiotics did not work so he was taken back, the son of the family was asked by the vet if he would like to take the dog home and bury him and the guy said "What Are You Talking About", no consent form had been signed - it was a terrrible mistake.

I always thought vets tried their best to talk you out of putting a dog down unless it was really necessary?

Needless to say the family have made a formal complaint.

Poor family and poor dog!

I would agree too having looked after Amber years ago during family holidays, they are part of the family. I even bought her a present at Christmas.

Oh my word, i would be just devastated if that happened to either of my dogs. It must be bad enough when you have no choice--but when it was not even neccessary......
