Did anyone see the stdory on Hotpoint/Indesit dishwashers tonight?

Guess what make I have? And I usually out mine on just before I go to bed!!!!

Karl .....what a worry .....we have smoke alarms in most of our rooms ...My sons friend died in a fire age 11 along with his grandmother ...Maggie ..cigarette and smoke alarm had batteries removed ....I cant even begin to tell of the heartbreak of it all and even 13 year later ...it still affects us all ...the settee was very old and gave off toxic fumes...Christopher would have been 24 1st June ......a heavy heart as I write this ....I'm evangelical about smoke alarms....I cannot emphasise enough the importance ....and cannot even begin to express my sadness when I think of young Christopher and watching my sons grieve him ....

I checked it out online and the faulty models are quite old I got mine when the new kitchen was installed.

Such a sad story Maxine--why would anyone remove the batteries from a smoke alarm.?

We have the Fire Service fit smoke alarms now, along with long lasting batteries-about 10 years--all for free. I guess it is more cost
effective to do that then to have a fire, and hopefully save more families from similar tragedies that Maxine just mentioned.

Yes so awful Marian ....everywhere we go ( and i didn't realise hubby had been doing this on holiday) we scan building when in them to make sure we know fire rules and exits....the reason we chose where we holiday now is because 4 years ago i suddenly remembered Christopher's birthday ....and then i though fire, smoke, alarm no alarms!! ..no fire blanket ,no extinguisher.!!! Nothing ....so when we chose our next place....we saw the owner very good on health and safety ...more so than many places abroad......we asked the other owner for a smoke alarm explaining why we so sensitive to it all .....and they did put one in .....when I was told about Christopher Marian ...I was at the shops and the boys at school....Adams best friend ....i just said ..."don't tell me this don't tell me this he's my sons friend!! ."...he had stayed with Maggie as Annie (Christopher's poor mum whom I contact with cards birthday and anniversary ) had flu ..as did her new hubby and lesser son ...my eldest sons friend and they just had a new baby Harrison ....Maggie's settee was very old ....full of poisonous substances when alight ....for some reason battery was not in it ....Christopher was very close to his Nan ...even their birthday z2 days apart ...beyond sad.....I will just finish this extremely tragic story by saying ...I will never forget the awful sounds coming from his Mother and step father on his funeral day ......please please be vigilant ......

I think old stettes etc are the worst thing as they go up so quickly. that is why charity shops etc, will not accept furniture that is not fireproof.

It released cyanide and chlorine ....

Marianna are you copying Maxine? Old stettes indeed, is that what you sit on in your house?
