I mentioned elsewhere that I have been away from the forum too long.
Whilst absent I had the rare opportunity to visit the Castle of Mey, the late Queen Mother's home in Scotland
http://www.castleofmey.org.uk/
which is in rather a remote location near to John O'Groats (and it wasn't a charity event that took me there).
On the guided tour I was pleased to find that on display in one of the lounges was "Songs for Swinging Sellers" which was apparently one of the Queen Mum's favourite albums. I was able to inform the tour guide that "Fred Flange" was in fact Matt Monro, something that the staff there were unaware of.

I think you're slightly downgrading her: she was Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. I'm always a bit sceptical about these stories about the Queen's favourite singer/TV programme etc. Has she actually told anyone? The one about Penelope Keith being her favourite actress was suspect - the sort of thing a journalist would say just because Margot Leadbetter wss "posh".

I read a few years ago The Queen liked Abba singing Dancing Queen and said she is the Queen and she likes to dance.
Jon they are all bound to have favourite singers & actors just like us!
