D-Day Landings tribute to the veteran heroes.

Post by Lena & Harry Smith » Wed Jun 05, 2019 2:15 pm

Watched this tribute on BBC 1 today and thought it was great. Tributes from The Queen, President Donald Trump, Teresa May and various members from allied countries. Some poignant moments, footage from that day and contributions, but for me the star was Sheridan Smith. She sang...When the Light Go On Again, and We'll Meet Again. Wonderful. :) :)

I saw bits of it on tonight's news, I see there is a spate of new cd releases to coincide with the anniversary.

Yes, I suppose there will be Karl, but I doubt if the music and songs will attract the younger generation, although on occasions I've known them to join in "We'll Meet Again."
Saw a picture of Dame Vera Lynn on Facebook today, obviously a grand age but looking very frail now.

I saw the highlights on the 6 o'clock news :) ……..I thought it looked like Sheridan Smith singing but the reporter didn't mention the singers name !
