Hello Everyone

Post by jon » Wed Mar 25, 2009 5:13 pm

Been out of contact with the forum for a month or two as I've been going through a nightmare redundancy programme at work, but I've now learnt that I am not being made redundant, so I can relax a bit and catch up on other, far more important things, including Matt and his music. I see some interesting posts have been flying around and I'm going to try and read them over the next few days and offer my thoughts, if any. Hope you're all well.

Great to see you again, sorry to hear you've been through a rough time but glad you job is safe.
I went through the same thing at Xmas - horrible.

Anyway, welcome back.

Welcome back from me too, Jon.

You have been conspicuous
by your long absence;
you bring wisdom to us
by your thoughtful presence.

Thanks for the update, Jon. Sorry to hear you've had a rough two months. I hope music helped you get through those times. And thanks for your very sad updates on zavvi. It was never as good as Virgin, but I will miss shopping at the store on Oxford Street. I loved the upper floor with the classical, jazz, shows, and easy listening sections. And their singles department was fabulous a few years ago.

Thank you for your kind remarks. I work in a big City law firm and lay-offs are occurring in spades as a result of the credit crunch (450 in my firm alone, including 47 partners and 100 lawyers).

Paul, I wondered if you knew there is a new Manic Street Preachers album due out on 18 May, entitled "Journal For Plague Lovers" and containing such intriguingly entitled tracks as "Jackie Collins Existential Time" and "Me and Stephen Hawking". I will of course be buying.
