Remembering Terry Parsons

Post by GregT » Sun Feb 07, 2010 12:54 am

Today we reflect on the sad loss of "The Singers Singer" on this day in 1985.
Terry Parsons lived a fairytale life that most of us can only dream of.
He touched the hearts of millions, but is now lost to us forever.
The musical legacy he left behind our only consolation.
The Golden Voice forever silent except for his echoes.
His tantalizing , untouchable echoes.
"We should have met, Some years ago"

Nice words Greg :) .......................I cannot believe it is 25 years since I heard the news of Matt's passing on the BBC One O'Clock news.............that moment stays vivid in my memory..............I was not a Matt fan in those days, but I remember the moment so well :(

I just felt the need to respond to your beautifully written message , which so describes our feelings about Terry Parsons....This young man had a dream to fulfill and because of his dream we are now being rewarded for all of the beautiful music he left us. Believe me his music as i've said so many times before.. plays in my apartment whenever I am here and also in my car... so Terry left us too soon and now already long ago. will always be with us By all the words written, by so many .. Robert.. Mariana 44 Marian .. Lena And Harry Sandra just to mention a few...he lives on ... forever. and ever.

Nice words indeed Greg, and Lori. We remember his life today and the sadness of his passing 25 years on, and now thanks to Michele's book, we are able to feel that we know him so much better, from the boy Terry Parsons to the Great Man, Matt Monro.

It's hard to believe that 25 years have passed since dear Matt passed away.
He will never be forgotten while there's music, moonlight, love and romance.
This is what his magnificent voice brought to the world, and it's here to stay. :) :)
Our thoughts are particularly with ..Michele, Mickie Matt Jnr and Max today.

Remembering Matt today, and thinking of you Mickie, Michele, Matt and Max. So hard to believe it is 25 years. Also hard to believe it is 20 years since I bought that first cassette tape, that featured just one song of Matt's that led me on this incredible musical journey. I thank you Matt, for all the pleasure your music has given me all these years.

Our thoughts today are especially with Mickie,Michele,Matt Jnr and Max.
Impossible to think it is 25 years. The legacy he has left behind with the beautiful songs that he sang and his magnificent voice means that he will remain in our hearts and minds forever.

I know I am a day late, but I have been thinking of Matt and his family. It must be wonderful for Michele to know that she got her fabulous Book out in time for this Special Day.
