Hi Everyone

I went along with some of my friends on thursday to Newham's Central Park for there swing night, it featured The Memphis Belle Orchestra, playing mostly forties and fifties music and what a great night it was too.

He sang a couple of Sinatra's then stopped to announce that he was going to sing a beautiful song from that great Londoner Matt Monro and he did quite a good job of singing My Kind Of Girl, it was great watching all age groups tapping there feet and swaying along with the music.

Hi Val, Sounds like you had a good time with some great music. Some of the best in music was around in the Forties and Fifties We looked on the web-site. Lots of events going on at Newham over the holiday weekend too. :)

Hi Lena & Harry,

Ah, good old Johnny Brown from London Town was born in Lambeth Walk.........Billy Cotton and his Band.

I was born not far from those parts, in Balham, as mentioned in the famous Peter Sellers ditty, so not a real Cockney, though I know must of the lingo since me Dad worked down the market area....
