One of snookers' most flamboyant players Alex ( hurricane )Higgins has died of throat cancer at the age of 61.
He was a superb player to watch and will be missed by millions./

R.I.P. Alex.
He was a fantastic snooker player and always entertaining with his great skills. So sad he had such troubled later years and that he died under such circumstances.
He will be sadly missed.

I vividly remember after he won one of his world championships, he ushered his wife and young daughter to join him :) ..............................Alex was a one off :) .........................RIP :(

That was a highlight in his career Robert . He was a one off to watch.
One occasion that we remember was so funny and so memorable was when he had a broken foot and was hobbling around the table playing his usual great game. :D :D

Did anyone watch the tribute to Alex on BBC 2 tonight ? I really enjoyed it, the hour just flew by :) ................his daughter has grown up into a very well spoken young woman and she is very attractive :) ................it's hard to believe how large the early mobile phones were  .................I was shocked and saddened to see how thin and frail Alex was towards the end of his life :( :(
