PAUL MERTON'S Palladium Story.

Post by Lena & Harry Smith » Sat Mar 12, 2011 12:31 pm

We watched a programme on Thursday evening BBC 4 introduced by Paul Merton that was first broadcast in 1995 or 6, about the Palladium. (we missed it then ) The Two parts on the same evening.
Another nostalgic look back on stars who appeared there and apart from the expected ones we've seen on Michael Grades prog, there are clips that include The Crazy Gang, Hetty King, Burns and Allen, Laurel and Hardy, Jimmy Durant, Arthur Askey, Max Bygraves, Joan Regan (looking beautiful too ) Judy Garland, Bob Hope Julie Andrews.
Available to watch on BBC iplayer. :)

I saw a great programme recently on Tv, about the Palladium--but I do not think it is the same one-I do not remember Paul Merton introducing it.

We loved it too but wish their had been more singers shown and not so many comedians.
Paul Merton looked very young. How old was the programme?

Lena & Harry think mid 1990's which would make Paul---16 years younger---is my Maths right? when I go from one century to another my mind goes blank---or is it 26 years ???

Just checked again. Paul Merton born July 1957, first introduced these Palladium programmes in 1994, 16 yrs ago, so he would have been 37 yrs old.
Just proves that nothing stops the ageing process. Even Millionaires can only camouflage it :D :D :D
So that consoles me no end :D :D
