GHOST

Post by Sandra » Sun Jun 24, 2012 10:57 am

One of the newer musicals in London GHOST is fantastic.
We went yesterday on the Lincoln Theatre Royal annual day trip.
We got tickets at a good price and excellent seats.
Perhaps more for the ladies(left John at home and was with my sister in law) the story line stayed faithful to the film but the lighting and stage effects were utterly amazing. We had never seen anything like it :D :D
We also managed to see part of a free all day concert in Trafalgar Square with on stage live singing from excerpts of every show in the west end :D :D

Sounds like a great day out Sandra, and well worth watching. The live concert also sounded super. Were there any well known performers involved?

Sounds like you had a great day out Sandra.

It's wonderful what they can do onstage nowadays, just look at Phantom Of The Opera and did anyone see the Cliff Richard musical "Time" years ago at the London Dominion? That was an amazing show.

Marian-- No we didn't see any one we knew just normal cast members. We didn't even get Richard Fleeshman for 'Ghost' but it was one of those shows that it didn't matter if you had a headline name.
Some people on our coach went to see 'Wizard Of Oz' and said that Des O'Connor walked on did his bit and that was that. Not to impressed.

Karl-no we never saw 'Time' but would see 'Phantom' again and again :)

Some shows are better if they don't have 'a star' aren't they?

Hi Sandra

Would you say this show is suitable for families, or is it too scary/has adult themes?

Hi Gray,

No,not really adult themes but pretty darn scary in parts!!
Their were no children in the audience and we don't think they would understand the story. :(
Hope that helps.

Is it the same story as the Patrick Swayze film?

In that case the stage effects must be amazing as they were in the film. I must dig out the dvd and watch it again as I haven't seen it for years.

Interesting, I wonder if this will make it here to the US as I haven't heard of the show.
