I see Alexandra is No.1 in the charts, no surprise there.

Would have been a bigger surprise if Eggnog Quignog had been No.1!

Please tell me that I am not the only person in the world who cannot stand the song Hallelujah (sung by anyone).

Let's say I am not impressed with this X factor winner and especially her Christmas #1. I don't like how Simon Cowell has ruined the Christmas #1 contest. Oh no, Robert will be upset, I've already mentioned Xmas this year. Have the department stores put up their 2009 decorations yet? I couldn't believe John Lewis, Bhs and M&S had their decorations up in early October last year.

And I despise how Leona Lewis has ruined the Snow Patrol song Run. I don't like her either.

Ever heard of a female singer called Sia, Jeff?

I believe I've heard one or two songs by Sia.

Please don't tell me that Sia has recorded Hallelujah. The other day I heard Il Divo sing it and it was certainly painful. Simon Cowell needs to disappear for a long time.

:)

No, Sia hasn't recorded Hallelujah you'll be pleased to hear.
I'm not a massive fan of the song either.

I certainly agree with everything you have to say about X Factor and Simon Cowell, Paul. I'm sure that all these performers - Leona Lewis, Alexandra etc. - are very much "here today, gone tomorrow" types who wll be forgotten in a couple of years' time. And quite rightly too.

X Factor's Minimum Wage
Posted Fri 9 Jan 2009 12:19PM GMT by Mitch Carter in The Guestlist

Despite becoming the first British female solo artist to sell over 1 million singles in the UK, Alexandra Burke is only earning £250 a night for live appearances according to the Daily Mail.

Her debut single Hallelujah outsold Leona Lewis' debut and is set to become the best-selling single by a female artist this decade, ousting current record-holder Kylie Minogue who has sold 1.1 million copies of Spinning Around.

Alexandra is currently performing alongside Laura White, Eoghan Quigg, Diana Vickers and Rachel Hylton as part of the X Factor tour. Her co-stars will receive a similar amount but boyband JLS will only earn £100 each per night for their performances.

Tax, a 20% management fee and expenses will also be deducted from their earnings.

Tickets for London's O2 arena start at £28.50 meaning a sold-out performance could earn organisers over half a million pounds.

I saw her on tv yesterday. Her voice didn't sound bad but was rather drowned out by the music, she spoke well though. I'm afraid I've forgotten her real name already.
