I seem to come out with a few words that stumps my English friends but you also use words that are not used here, I am so used to using it I have no idea where it's from, the English equivalent will be pondered.

You see, this site is very educational And bi-lingual even!

So now, if you end up on The Chase and that question is asked you will know the answer.

Talking of The Chase Bradley Walsh was funny tonight. The Chaser (after a question on Kate Bush) said he loved Kate Bush, quick as a flash Bradley said I love Shepherd's Bush But I Don't Go On About It!'. With his accent it sounded perfect.

I like "The Chase" too Karl, and there have been several funny moments, especially when "The Governess" is on. She is my favourite. :)

My Scottish friend Frances often used strange words, or phrases that we did not always understand--but we did get used to it eventually.

I missed "the Chase" tonight-but I often watch it---that was funny about Kate Bush---she was actually bought up in Welling, which is where George and I lived in our first house for 9 years---and Shepherds Bush is just a mile or two down the road from where I lived all my life--till I moved to Welling, in fact

Bradley Walsh is a natural comedian, and the Governess reminds me of what a fitting role she could play as a Nazi prison warden.

At the moment, my sky plus is filled with either QUIZZES, COOKERY SHOWS, OR REALITY SHOWS.

We watch all those quizzes too, although not Countdown so much as we are generally watching Flog It on the other channel.
We like Breakaway. When it starts with everyone extremely friendly to each other and sticking together.. until the rot sets in :D :D

We watch Flog It too, followed by Breakaway at the moment. We enjoy it too, and how you never really know who's is going to win until the end, and how it can all change! :D

I spotted on my Locate tv today, that Petula is on Friday night [11th Jan] BBC4 at 11.15--Blue Lady----I know this was an album that Petula recorded many years ago, and I do believe I may have the cd of it somewhere !! As I recall, it was quite a different style for Petula at that time.

Petula Clark was on Jools Holland's programme on New Years Eve.
She was sitting at one of the tables watching the others doing their spot, and the majority of those were certainly not our cup of tea. We couldn't imagine that they were hers either. By that time it was obvious that she was going to appear near the end, but we'd seen enough by then and swithched over. :)
