Admirably reasoned,Jon.

Sentiment has no traction in a Court of Law.

The DLT verdict is going to be very interesting indeed. I personally found
him rather arrogant behind that 'huggable bear' persona.Nevertheless,I
would strive to banish that from my mind were I one of the 'Just men.'

There are plenty arrogant people in the world, doesn't mean to say they are guilty of crimes.

Do some re-reading Karl.
Then explain where I equated arrogance with guilt?

I have no need to explain anything to you Don, you know it all and what you equate is of little interest to me.

That is the response of an individual with 'issues.'
Diagnosed,or otherwise...

As I previously commented after the not guilty verdict , I don't agree when the defendants are named in cases but not the accusers. As far as this case goes the accusations made were unsafe and so he was acquitted. Knowing Bill Roaches past reputation and if you don't it's all on line plus his own admittance of being a rampant sex addict from way back in the Sixties particularly for young girls...and in his own words apparently, he has slept with 1000 women, his infidelities causing his marriage breakdowns and although Jon, on his posting is only commenting and referring to the actual case, my reason for agreeing with Jon's comment....has not been proved innocent, is possibly because I remember from watching the very first episode of Coronation Street and how this young and apparently very shy young actor, ...even described at one time as boring, but in no time matured and was frequently making news on and off the TV screen. So at least from the outcome of the case the judges didn't let this interfere with their verdict, unless they are not as old as me and don't remember  :D He wasn't always an 81 year old.
Like all the other celebrities awaiting for their cases to come up, Dave Lee Travis is pleading innocent of all charges and says these women can smell money.
I just wondered about one 14 year old's story in the newspaper that Jimmy Saville took her to a back room in the studio behind a curtain and assaulted her, then she added ...he did it each time I went there. :? :?

Well you got that right and no prizes for guessing who the "issue" is?

L&H, your last sentence sums it all up. If somebody assaults you then you do not return.

The same thing was said at William Roache's trial when one of his accusers returned to his house, why? If someone is abusing you why return?

I see DLT has now been acquitted of 12 counts - this will presumably generate much debate over the advisability of such charges, but if multiple individuals go to the police this cannot be ignored. Again, this emphasises the difficulty of proving such cases after such a long time and will presumably reinforce complainants' reluctance to come forward in future.
