I intended to watch it-even taped it--but in the end decided that i did not really fancy it.

I have read mixed reviews of it.

I thought they were all of a high standard tonight.
Sorry to see Scott go, but Daniel put in a very emotional performance, quite reminiscent of Geraldine's show as it happens!

I enjoyed Big Band night as always, always a good choice of songs. :D

I had been really looking forward to Big Band week, but I was actually disappointed in the choice of songs--I hated Laura's song, even though everyone else seemed to love it. i had never heard Daniel's song before, but the words were beautiful.

I did not think it was a patch on the original" Pop Idols" big band week, which I still remember vividly--must be at least 7 years ago---Will Young sang "Beyond the Sea"---Gareth Gates sang "Mack the Knife" Zoe Birkett sang "Get Happy" and Darius sang "Let there be love"---plus they also made a cd and video featuring all the finalists singing "Big Band Songs" which remains one of my favourites to this day. Will Young also sang "I won't dance" and i am still waiting for him to produce a cd on those lines !!I think I may be waiting a long long time.

I was a bit disappointed tonight as well to be honest, I thought Rachael was excellent. I think Daniel deserved to get through with that last song.

I can understood why Louis Walsh was showing emotion at the Song For Heroes at the end.
Scott bowed out gracefully didn't he.

Richard Madeley referred to Daniel Evans as "The poor man's Matt Monro" in the Express this morning. Then went on to say "The very poor man's Matt Monro".

If we are being honest, there is really no comparison--Daniel's voice is Ok--but not what I would consider "Special"---whereas Matt's definately is "very Special" .

Couldn't agree more Marian. In fact in the sing off last week I thought Scott sang better than Daniel :)

Of course Daniel is no comparison with Our Matt, I wasn't quite sure what Richard Madeley was getting at anyway, as is often the case.
I'm sure if Daniel had been voted off last week he would have taken it more graciously than Scott did though

Yes, well Richard Madely regularly speaks before he's got his brain in gear, mostly on their TV show, anything as long as he can jump in before Judy.
We agree Marian, we thought that Scott was going to have to be airlifted off that stage.

Enjoyed the show tonight, I thought there were some good performances, a bit surprised at the result though, I didn't expect Rachel and Austin in the last two.

No, neither did I John, but although Austin had a good voice he did lack charisma I thought. I wasn't too keen on either song in the sing off though.
Daniel lives to fight another day.. Richard will be pleased..I think not!

Yes Marian, I thought he may have been in the bottom two again. I didn't think he was too bad tonight actually, he just doesn't have that power in his voice.

I was sure that Rachel and Daniel would be in the final--Rachel is looking much older than 26--the make-over that they did on her has not done her any favours to my mind--I hated both her songs. I am not sure how Daniel is going to cope with a Mariah Carey song ! Or some of the others for that matter !

Surprisingly I liked Austin the best this week--maybe because I liked the song he sang. [Wishing on a star]
