Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Yes Sandra, I will miss it for the next three months too ..............Matt always mentioned in interviews that one of his favourite singers was Perry Como, but Don never mentioned him as a favourite Matt singer

I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"

Re: Don Black on Radio 2
On his final show of the present series Don played Frank tonight
...........he also played "matchless" Matt singing one of his most glorious balllads I Get Along Without You Very Well
.............Bing Crosby once quoted that he if went as "high" as Matt does during the song he would get a nose bleed and going as "low" as Matt does on that final note is not in his territory..........he also said that I Get Along Without You Very Well by Matt is one of the best recordings of a song he had ever heard
........................Don also played Kingston Upon Hull's very own Joe Longthorne too
"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
Re: Don Black on Radio 2
I never thought Matt went THAT high.
Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Maybe when Matt sings the line I Get Along Without You Very Well ..............the word Well goes quite high
"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"

A really nice choice of music again Robert.Especially Frank Sinatra 'The Way You Look Tonight' one of our favourites and to remember what a great voice Edward Woodward has.
