Saturday nights will never be the same again :( .Over the Rainbow has been a
really great programme.
Well done to Danielle although we thought it would be Sophie too.
Graham Norton has been superb and the panel too. :D
The BBC do these programmes SO WELL so why do we hear that ALW is going over to ITV :?

I have to admit I though Sophie really improved over those last few shows - I just didn't think she was Dorothy.

No Danielle didn't Blub - But that's a sign of professionalism rather than a weekness in my book. I found all the crying false. When the girls cried at the end of each week I just simply didn't believe that that they were sorry somebody else went and not them!

Yes Marian, ALW is writing three new songs (Unfortunately - much as I like the guy i'm not a fan of his music).

I think Andrew Lloyd Webber has written some beautiful music--and I love the way the different lyricists work on his melodies.
But I guess my favourite partnership was with Tim Rice--I just think the music from "Evita" and "Joseph" is great.

Well at least you don't have to sell your tickets now Richard! It was a close call!
Hope you and your family enjoy the show. :D :D

Well, no one can deny the musical talent of ALW, but in this series he did seem to contradict himself several times on what he was looking for in a Dorothy, and confusing for the girls i should think, and i squirmed every time he was introduced with that music..  .

I saw Danielle 0n breakfast tv this morning-she seemed very calm and collected-which I guess is a good thing.

Also heard the single on Sarah Kennedy show this morning---it sounded very sweet, and I am really glad she included the verse--but apart from it being a charity single, I cannot think of a reason to buy it.

As you've all guessed, I was very pleased that Danielle won: there was never really any doubt in my mind that she would but there was still a bit of tension before the result was announced as I thought "will the public get it wrong?". But of course they didn't. Sophie has arguably the more attractive voice of the two but she didn't seem involved in what she was singing and certainly didn't look like Dorothy. Danielle was probably the only contestant who would make me want to go and see the show, which I may consider doing. Is anyone else getting tickets?

I agree; it had absolutely nothing special about it. And why that huge and shocking ending on the last few notes?

There's no need for this version, when we have Doris Day's ultimate and definitive recording.

Robert -- Jon often writes about Matt Monro and sometimes participates in the games. Gray is fine, just busy with projects.

It's often difficult to find the time to post in the forum regularly. Too many other things require my time. I'm sure that applies to everyone.

I'm pleased to see you're missing me, Robert. I've not had much time to post lately as I've been very busy with work and other things, but I will try and post more regularly from now on.

It's always nice to see your posts Jon, regardless of where you contibute or when,
It's a tough world out there making a living, and can involve working long hours to achieve just that.
We've missed you too Gray, but we know that you are also busy. :) :)
