Gray---don't forget the final on Sunday--even though we are not playing, I am sure you will want to watch.

Funny , it does not seem 5 miinutes since the last season ended, and now we are nearly back with another one.

The only good thing I can think of to say, is that maybe I will win the Pools THIS year!!!

:)

Hi Marian

Yes, the season's sure do roll round quickly - thank goodness!!!
And at the start of every season I'm filled with hope and dreams of success - just like every other football supporter in the country.
Then, usually, two games in you are brought back down to earth!!! :)

Yes, I will be watching the World Cup Final on Sunday, I think I would like France to win, just for Zidane, who is such a graceful player.
Might play "A Place in Paris" full blast just before kick off to wish them luck!
But on the other hand, I could try "On Days Like These" to help the Italian job. ;)
hmmm, as long as it's a good game, I won't be too bothered who wins!

Good luck on the pools!

Hi Gray, Marian, Hilary, Robert. We feel a little bit like Gray on the footie scene, and there's precious little that we've missed on television. We watched Eastenders religiously for years and then gave up on this a few months ago after it became such boring trash, and after flicking through the channels a few nights ago there was this soap, same misery, and with the same miserable looks at each other,  hasn't changed a bit, so once again we've missed nothing. Although there's the final to watch on Sunday, we haven't got the same enthusiasm, but at least we are now spared from sitting biting our nails and the ash trays spilling over. But it was good while England lasted.!!

Hi ---yes I have to admit that at the moment there is hardly anything on tv watching--I do not know what I would do without my Sky---and my computer---and my music---they keep me sane--while my dogs drive me insane.

Last night about 10.00 one was chasing round the room chewing up flowers she'd pinched from the vase---the other one was outside making another big hole in the garden fence!!!

Hi Marian, yes, we agree, we seem to watch TV less and less, and listen to our own music, and more music from web-sites than radio shows.
Sounds as though your doggies keep you occupied too Marian.

Hello Lena and Harry, Mariana44 and all. Yes Lena and Harry, I spend a lot of time during the week listening to radio show's on the "listen again" feature, Radio Essex (Eric Hall), Radio Newcastle (Frank Woppett), Radio Wales (Dewi Griffith's), Radio 2 (Desmond Carrington). Doesn't give you much time to listen to other types of music ie CD's. I usually listen to those programmes while I am using my computer.

I usually only watch TV for the new's or any sport. I have neglected my DVD's lately as well.

Yes we know what you mean Robert. We have been catching up on Radio shows, like Russell Davies and Desmond Carrington and we realised that David Jacobs included Matt again the Sunday before last.
We've got some reading to catch up on too, our music magazines e.t.c.
Where does the day go to.

Hi Lena and Harry, Robert and Marian,

Yes, the TV is rubbish isn't it?!
Even with more channels to choose from, you only really have more of the same, nothing of real interest I'm afraid.

The newspapers think that "Big Brother" is worth watching don't they? This really sums it up nicely I think.
If this is GOOD TV then we might as well unplug the TV and throw it away!!

Hello Hilary and all. But then I wouldn't be able to watch any DVDs Hilary, when I get round to watching them again. Don't fancy watching them on my PC.

Hi Mariana44. I like to watch DVDs on a larger screen, plus the Dolby sound quality is much better.

Hi Robert---yes I was just joking really! But the personal ones are great for on holiday.

I would love a big plasma screen, I have to admit. Not sure where it would fit in my living room though!! And a small matter of cost

Hi Marian and Paul, funny you should mention personel DVDs. we were looking at some in an advert that came with our morning paper, to use in the car for travelling, to fix on the back seats.
Sounds a great idea but no good for the driver.
