Yes, it's very sad news about Glenn Campbell. It's the old story of performers who don't know when it's time to give up, and fan or no fan it's hard to understand how people would want to go and see a once great singer and performer forgetting his words, particularly knowing that this is likely to happen.

I can see where you are coming from L&H

.........but staunch mega fans of Glen Campbell will be tearing their hair out to get tickets, after all it will be Glens last ever UK concerts

.................so you can imagine the fans urgency to snap up tickets for the very final........ and probably very tearful and emotional appearances by Glen in this country.

I suppose so Robert, although he must have deteriorated badly in recent months, because he was here about two to Three years ago and followed Al Martino's tour at a couple of the same venues.

Thanks for posting the news Robert, albeit sad,
regarding Glen Campbell's illness. Medical science
is making advances every day, eg stem cell therapy,
so maybe a cure for Altzeimer's will be found.
Glen's version of Jimmy Webb's song, By The Time
I Get To Phoenix, is a classic recording; the voice
and the song combine to make the perfect musical
marriage. Coincidentally, the lyrics stand alone as a
sad-beautiful piece of poetry.

They certainly do Keith, and yes, medical science is discovering and advancing all the time. We have all these songs of Glenn's on LpS. Al Martino appeared on one of Glenn's long running series show called the ..Goodtime Hour in 1969. Al sang "Sausalita" and " Mary In The Morning."

A cure may be too late for poor Glen

I have always enjoyed Glen Campbell's music and saw him in concert many, many years ago with the great musician Carl Jackson, they both performed that classic Duelling Banjos and brought the house down.
After a lengthy silence Glen recently came back with a brilliant new cd and also a one off tv show which was really good.
I saw an ad for his tour just last week but until I read this post I had no idea he was ill, I know for awhile Glen went off the rails and was a hell-raiser but I was glad when he got back on track and started making great music again.
