JOHNNY MATHIS TOUR 2011

I have just heard from a friend who was at the O2-although she paid £65.00 a ticket, she could not see John, and although screens were there, they were not used--plus if they were she could not have seen the screen--however, she said he was signing brilliantly-his voice was strong, and he did not appear to be nervous, although he came out late. He did comment on the size of the 02. And the orchestra sounded great. He ended with "You'll never know" as a tribute to the now defunct "Mathis Connection"--it always was a special song for him and us.

I was wondering if performing at the 02 would put pressure on him-I know he does not like these huge venues, no matter how many times he appears in them, so I was glad to hear that all went well.

I really dislike huge venues and find them very impersonal, I also feel if you have to watch someone on a screen to see them best stay home and see them on a dvd in the comfort of your living room.

To pay £65 and not see the star and for the screens not to be on is the ultimate rip-off. I hope your friend complained to management Marian ?

Hi Karl--I am not sure if she did complain--it is such a huge place that there would be many in the same position.

I agree, I hate these huge arena-like places---imside the NEC is like being inside an aircraft carrier---but you can just get so many people in these big arenas-last time JM was in Manchester MENA, over 8000 people were there.

I have lots of friends going to Birmingham tonight, and quite a few going to Manchester over the weekend.
