I heard on the Ken Bruce show that the singer Dobie Gray passed away yesterday at the age of 71.

Rest In Peace.

The name sounds vaguely familiar, but I cannot recall his voice.

Sad news-71 is no age these days.

Wow, Mariana, he's the guy who sang "Loving Arms" and "Drift Away" from the 70's. It's weird that it wasn't even on the news here or mentioned on the "oldies" radio station.. 71..that's pretty young for these days..

Perhaps Drift Away wasn't a hit in the UK. I'm sure you remember it never went away from the US airwaves in the 70s and 80s, Eman. And then came that inferior remake; I can't even recall the group or singer as I hated it so much.

Drift Away was often played on radio here and was also recorded by Tony Christie and Barbara Dickson, I like the song very much.
