Very sad news-I have heard more of this singer in the last 12 months than ever before. I heard on the news about her very unhappy life, I had not realised.

Sad to heart this news of Etta James, a great singer. Her version of " AT LAST" must be the best.

R.I.P. - Etta James

Did anyone the the 2008 movie "Cadillac Records" with Beyonce singing "At Last"? Her rendition is spot on!

I still prefer the original version by Glenn Miller with Ray Eberle on the vocal.....I'm just an "Old-Fashioned" Guy!

Yes, on second thoughts I agree Henry, there are several who have recorded the song but there really is no comparison when it comes to the Glenn Miller and Ray Eberly version.
Celine Dion struggles with this one and Eva Cassidy's recording excites me about as much as her version of "Over The Rainbow" UGH !!! :)

I agree that the Glenn Miller Orchestra with Ray Eberle is the best. I think Doris Day also did a good version and maybe Dinah Shore too.

If I have to listen to that modified bluesy version, I prefer to hear Beyonce sing it.

Can't forget that Al Martino recorded "Al Last " too, and a host of others :) :)
