Or maybe he never really went away. Apparently he's representing the UK in this year's Eurovision Song Contest. It's not 1 April, is it? I must check my calendar...

Surely that has to be a joke?
I just checked online and it is true, he must surely be the oldest singer (75) to take part.

It is absolutely true-I believe it is May 18th.
And he will be the oldest person to enter-at the time he will be 76.
Not sure what his voice is sounding like just now--but whatever--he needs a decent song !

I say good luck to Engelbert. At least we have a good singer representing us and we should have a better chance of getting somewhere for the first time in years. He is still singing pretty well.

Well Engelbert may be 75, but what the hell. We've done no good for years in this farcical competition, but seeing that at long last someone is waking up to this and presumably no other singer think it's worth the flight or been invited, we hope he gets well paid.

I stopped watching Eurovision years ago, back in the glory days you knew who the conductors were etc from the records we bought, politics should be kept
out of music!

Ireland's choice always seemed to win at one time with ballads, it will be interesting to see how Englebert does anyway.

Engelbert made a lot of good records over the years, most of the one's I liked best were album tracks or b sides.

Songwriter Barry Mason who has written more songs for Engelbert than any other songwriter is talking to Eric Hall today, and he thinks this is a great move for him and he should definitely go for it

I THINK HE MIGHT DO A LOT BETTER THAN PEOPLE THINK. HE MAY BE 75 BUT HIS VOICE IS STILL GOOD AND MUCH BETTER THAN SOME AT THAT AGE , BUT UNTIL THEY DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE VOTING IM AFRAID ITS MORE CORRUPT THAN THE REST OF EUROPE

Ken Bruce played it today and spoke to him, I think it's rather mediocre and doubt if it will light up the score board!

I would like to see Engelbert do well, and who knows, but this song does nothing for me, so unmelodious and repetetive.
