X FACTOR 2012

Post by mariana44 » Tue Aug 28, 2012 4:38 pm

Well, here it is agian---regular as clockwork--x-factor time.

I had intended not to watch this year, after quite an awful series last year--but , in the end could not resist.

However, I am glad I did--I am pleasantly surprised--a few small changes to help things along--not so keen on Nicole as a judge--I keep remembering the fiasco in the American X Factor, but I enjoyed Mel B as a judge--she was harsh, but most times she said exctly what I was thinking !

I love the fact that they can use instruments and sing their own songs, as we get some originality now--none more so than Lucy from last week, who reminded me of a very young Victoria Wood--she was funny and clever---but I cannot see a future for her on x factor, because of the format-when it comes to the themes weeks, I just do not think it will work for her--but she has made such a massive impression already, i do not think that will matter-apparently she has had over 1,000,000 hits on Youtube already. I also liked the singing chimney sweep--was it Kai--really ggod voice---but not so keen on the young guy at the end, James, although the panel thought he was wonderful.

Apart from that everything else seemed the same--as soon as someone shows up with their mum or dad, who say how wonderful they are, and what a big star they will be---you can guarantee they will be rubbish!

Another change to Xtra Factor--hope it is permanent--they are concentrating on more auditions, instead of endless phone calls and Skype calls, and stupid gimmicks, and boring interviews.

So I think I am going to stick with it.

Some more really good singers last night--I definately think the standard has improved since last year.

But one thing I have learned is--if anyone says "I've got a beautiful voice"--turn the sound down for the next minute or so. !!

Some good singers this week-a lot of young girls , it seems--I wonder what some of them would without Adele and her music !!

What a relief--I thought I was posting to myself.

Yes, I agree about the boy you mentioned--just a bit too big for his boots--I have discovered that if anyone comes on stage and calls
out "Hello London" [or wherever] they tend to be showoffs !!!

He was very good--but ultra nervous--he will need to do something about that,as it could affect him in the later stages. Hopefully the reception from the crowd, and comments from the judges will help with his confidence.

Apart from the 70 year old man on Saturday nights programme of which I have 'no comment'
I began to think it was a female only show this year.
Lots of good voices especially the girl with the guitar.
A bit more variety on Sunday night including the usual co-cky boy group and some good male singers.
No winner for me last night.

I knew he was going to be trouble, as soon as he said how great he was !! Not sure why he singled out Tulisa--they all said the same.

More good singers---I am beginning to wonder how they are going to choose---especially from the girls---and also the boy groups, which there has been a lot of---maybe due to the success of "One Direction"---but strangely enough, not so many girl groups, which I thought there would be , after Little Mix winning last year---and I cannot believe I am saying this, i actually like their new single !

Mariana, the X-Factor US has just started here and it has Britney Spears and Demi Lovato (a Disney teen star who toured with the Jonas Brothers ) as the new judges instead of Paula Abdul and Nicole from the Pussycat Dolls. It was pretty funny that there was this one contestant and he as like a Britney stalker..couldn't sing a lick, but he was funny but creepy altogether. You could tell Britney was scared. There was also this 13 year old girl who was awesome and sang like Pat Benetar!!

X factor US has been advertised on our tvs as "coming soon"--but no date as yet-could be next week maybe. I am not sure why Britney has been made such a fuss of--the tralers I have seen, she just sounds like the other judges, and says exactly the same as the other judges.

I want Kara back. !!
