EGGHEADS

Matt came up on Eggheads again tonight--a deciding question---who had a top 10 version of "Yesterday" in 1965---and the answer was Matt Monro. I have to confees that I did not get it right---there are so many people who recorded that song--the contestant said John Lennon.

Marian, Matt was the first to have a hit record with Yesterday .............in1965 :wink:

Awww I miss watching "Eggheads". There's nothing like it here in the US and they don't show it on BBC America

What do you mean, Marian---I have to say that the answer surprised me-in fact I had to rewind and listen to it again.

Eman, I watch Eggheads every day, and score myself. I miss being in a real quiz team--but out of 5 of us, 2 ladies sadly died, one moved away, which only left 2 of us--I have been trying to get back on another quiz team, but no luck yet ! But Eggheads is fun.

I was only saying, that they got the answer wrong with John Lennon, but I was forgetting the general public don't know as much as we do about Matt Monro! :wink:

Gotta agree Marian, when you generally say "Yesterday" people think "The Beatles" and not Matt who had the first chart record with it.
Mariana, I watch a quiz show here called Jeopardy with my folks every night along with Wheel of Fortune. They are fun, but Eggheads seems to have an edge to it.

Funnily enough , we had a game on the Forum, based on Jeopardy, which Paul started, as we did not know it.

We have Wheel of Fortune here too, which I like--but it is all repeats now, on Satellite, as it is not running currently.

Did anyone see Eggheads yesterday ? ..................the none too bright Judith (I don't know how they keep her on the show) did not know the answer to ................"in the Petula Clark song, what word comes after...............Don't Sleep in the ......" ..............she'd never heard of the song :roll: :roll: .................all the other Eggheads knew ther answer of course.
