Here's a new idea for a thread. Has there been any new record on the radio you enjoy?
I like Big When I Was Little by Eliza Dollittle - I think it's really catchy.

Daft Punk's latest lp "Random Access Memories" has their big hit "Get Lucky". I like the album a lot as some of it sounds like the old disco group "Chic"
Pet Shop Boys latest lp "Electric"..it's back to their dance roots after their last dismal moody lp!!

Blurred Lines?? Really, Robert? It's a ripoff of Got to Give it Up by Marvin Gaye. I don't see how it can be the best selling single of the year.
But the Passenger song is very sweet.
Eman -- I do like the Daft Punk album, but it's a bit uneven. Get Lucky is superb, but I like Instant Crush even more. It's nice to hear Paul Williams singing again (on Touch). I hope Mariana has heard this as I think he's one of her favourite singers.
Here's another from my album of the year:
F for You -- Disclosure

Paul - They did a Mash Up of Got To Give It Up amd Blurred Lines and yes both songs are structurally the same but tne Mash Up sounds pretty cool.

Going back to Eliza Doolittle, I just found out that she is the daughter of Frances Ruffelle, who was in the original version of "Les Mis"--I think she played Eponine. She also represented Britain in the Eurovision song contest one year.

I think Eliza Doolittle also starred in
My Fair Lady

I've become a keen viewer of 4music on Freeview and sit into the early hours on Friday/Saturday watching their programmes, which is my way of keeping up with the latest "sounds". I've learnt a lot about current/recent pop music from it which I probably wouldn't know otherwise. I like Flo Rida's records "Got A Feeling" and "Club Can't Handle Me" (minus the rap bits, that is).

Ha ha Robert !!! Actually her real name is Eliza--and she just thought that the Doolittle would make it memorable.

With reference to Paul's comments re Blurred Lines, the BBC are reporting today that the writers/performers of the song, Robin Thicke and Pharell Williams etc, are bringing legal action against Marvin Gaye's family for claiming they've ripped off Got To Give It Up! Prescient or what.
