ROYAL VARIETY SHOW

Post by karl » Tue Dec 10, 2013 2:06 pm

Did anyone watch this last night?

I decided to watch it and record Ripper Street.

I thought the show was ok, for once there was no "Top Of The Bill" unless you cound CHas & Dave being the final act but I think that was awarded to them for their time in the business.

Personbally I thought the MC was dreadful.

I did like Mary J Blige, don't know here that well but she has a great voice.

She appeared on many game shows in the past--and won a nice little stash of prizes.

I saw the first half hour then turned it over, but caught the last few minutes with Chas and Dave, I was surprised to see them top of the bill, but they were good. I caught the bit where Dame Edna invaded the Royal Box, that was funny. :D

I was in the kitchen when that happened John andn I wanted to see it as they showed a trailer, I just caught the last few seconds. Surely Dame Edna must have done more than was shown on tv Seems a waste getting all made up for what was shown, I do realise the show is edited but I thought he would have topped the bill.

Dame Edna also did a duet with Bryn Terfel--"there is nothing like a dame"

My favourite part was Andrew LLoyd Webber talking about his new musical, and a duet from the show--a beautiful song--called "the Other side of the sky" or something similar.

Yes I saw the duet with Bryn Terfel, forgot about that until you said and I also thought the Stephen Ward musical looked good.
