Sheridan Smith to play Cilla

Cilla a three-part drama by Jeff Pope who co-authored Philomena with Steve Coogan.
Filming commences in...Liverpool (thank God) in March

Pope/Coogan have taken home tonight's BAFTA for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Sheridan Smith is an excellent actress and I'm sure will make an interesting Cilla. I'm looking forward to it.

I thought Philomena was a great film. Well done to everyone connected with it.
It was interesting to see the 'real' Philomena on tv too. I hope it makes the 'child' mothers easier to trace their children.

It looks good on the clips the shopwed Marian, Judi Dench is one of those quietly brilliant actresses, by that I mean there is never any scandal about her and she doesn't crave the limeligjht.
