Tonight's show a question was Who Sang The Bacharach /David song on the James Bond Spoof Casino Royale
A Cilla Black B Petula Clark or C Dusty Springfield
The guy said Cilla then said he was wrong it was Petula, obviously not a Dusty fan.
Considering it is still played regularly and is included on countless cd compilations this guy does not know much about music.l
I was glad when he got voted off!!!!

Actually it's one of Dusty's most popular songs although not a particular favourite of mine.
First time I was in the States it was in the charts there and it thrilled me to see people buying it and talking about it.

I do not think I saw Casino Royale, and I wlould not have known that Dusty sang that song in it. Great song though, great version too.

That was a tough question. This is one of my most favourite Dusty songs but I don't think of it as being from Casino Royale. I just think of Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass's theme, which I love too. Maybe I should buy the soundtrack.

Hi Paul, good to see ya back! Me too, I think of Herb Alpert and the TJB when Casino Royale is mentioned. Could be cuz it was a hit here in the U.S.

The Look Of Love did very well for Dusty in the States too, I was actually there on my first ever trip and it was great to see peope buying her single. Even although it was a long time ago I remember two girls "Oh! The Looka Love" and buying it ,
I think I remember everything about my first Stateside trip as it was magical and how was I to know that all those years later I would lose count of the trips I've had there - and yes the magic is still there.
I love Herb Alpert's theme, I like playing that track as loud as I can stand it!!!
Actually Dusty recorded several movie themes
The Corrupt Ones (Robert Stack movie of the same name aka The Peking Medallion in the States)
The Sweet Ride (also film title)
Sea & Sky (Michel Legrand theme for Time For Loving, Matt also recorded a song for this film)
But It's A Nice Dream (James Caan movie Kiss Me Goodbye)
Dusty's songs have also been used in Scandal (Nothng Has Been Proved), Muriel's Wedding (I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself), Pulp Fiction (Son Of A Preacher Man).
Paul It's comforting to know you were stumped on this one!

Not too mention Dusty and B.J. Thomas sang the theme song "As Long As We Have Each Other" for the American TV show Growing Pains, I believe.

They did indeed Eamon, I was testing to see if other swould come up with what I left out, you won the prize LOL
Getting It Right was also from a movie with the same title, that was an outtake from Dusty's Reputation abum but was past of three bonus tracks to the re-released Reputation & Rarities.
Give Me The Night was another song from the movie Corvette Summer, only released as a single in the States but made it's UK debut on the 2cd set Something Special which is one of my favourite compilations.
