AMERICA'S GOT TALENT 2008

Post by mariana44 » Mon Jun 30, 2008 5:34 pm

Is anyone else watching this show--it has just shown the second auditions.

I am really enjoying it--there is the usual mix of crazy, and weird acts---but there are also a few gems in there-----like the ventriloquist whose doll was an impressionist---------the pet act with cats-----the dancing group led by a guy on crutches----a group called "RedNeck Tenors" who looked odd, but they were great.

If you get a chance , give it a go--it is on Friday night--but also repeated several times during the week--on ITV2--I think.

Yes, we have watched parts of it Marian, did you see "World's got Talent" last night on ITV2? This featured clips from all over the world, some quite bizarre acts.

I saw the"Worlds got talent" a few weeks ago--definately some crazy acts--but a few good ones too.

I guess no---one else has been watching this show--I have really enjoyed it. Last Friday the final 4 were chosen, and performed--and next week, the winner will be announced---however, as I thought the winner was going to be announced Friday, I decided I could not wait any longer--and checked on the Web for the result.

I was delighted that one of the acts that I picked out right from the start, was the winner---even more surprised as I had read something on Teletext a few weeks back, that led me to believe that someone else had won--but that person actually came 3rd.

My hair stylist has been after me to watch this programme. I recorded it last night as they are finally finished with the silly acts and down to 40. I find the host Jerry Springer completely unbearable. So it's definitely a record-and-fast-forward type of show. The insurance salesman who sang Somewhere was adequate, but I wasn't as thrilled as the judges.

That must be a new series starting in Us then, as we only finished the last series very recently. I agree that Jerry Springer seems all wrong for the show.

There was a very moving episode tracing back Jerry Springer's family this week on Who Do You Think You Are, when he discovered the horrific end to his grandmother's life in a gas van at the hands of Nazi Germany, and that his maternal grandmother and other family members also died in a ghetto in Poland.
His own parents escaped to England just in time.

I did not see it, but all the remarks that I have read, say what an emotional episode it was.
