Happy 100th Birthday to Frank, the Guvnor. Chairman Of The Board.
How many of the singers of today will still be around or even be remembered after a few decades.
Getting some decent songwriters and lyricists would be a good start. OH....and some singing lessons.

Will never forget seeing Frank Sinatra at the Royal Albert Hall in 1977 his guests were Pat Henry & The 5th Dimension. A truly magical evening and our seats were wonderful, we were so close to Frank and his eyes really were blue.
Re: Frank Sinatra 100
Thankyou Channel 5 for giving us so much material on FRANK.,some we had seen before of course but the live concert THE MAIN EVENT last night- amazing. Two more nights to come

Re: Frank Sinatra 100
One of the best Sinatra concert I've seen (apart from seeing him live) was the Concet For The Americas - that was fantastic, I have the dvd.
Re: Frank Sinatra 100
Haven't tuned in to the Sinatra fest as I have never been a fan particularly. Don't understand the fuss about him. He is no better a singer than anyone else and less so than some (e.g.Matt and Johnny Mathis). I can take him in small doses, and that's it. Still, I hope those of you who like him enjoyed the fare on offer.

Re: Frank Sinatra 100
Loved everything that we've seen on Frank for his 100th Birthday, even if we have the DVDs or seen most of it, and Karl, nothing like seeing him live.
If anyone enjoys watching animated films then this has been a whale of a Christmas.
Not for me though

Jon , ok you don't rate Frank too highly but I have always liked him. His phrasing and breath control and he was also a terrific all round entertainer land his films were great too with. It leaves me wondering how much of his music you have listened to? Anyway everyone to his own .jon wrote:Haven't tuned in to the Sinatra fest as I have never been a fan particularly. I have listened to a fair bit of Frank's music and indeed I have owned the album Songs For Swinging Lovers for some time. I enjoy some of his recordings but don't think he is technically as good as, say, Matt or Johnny M, and he ultimately leaves me feeling bored. I certainly don't think he merits a month-long dedicated season on Radio 2. However, I accept he was a very big star and I have watched and enjoyed some of the films he appeared in, though not necessarily because he was in them.

Well Jon you can't win them all, but boring is the last word I would use for Frank Sinatra and technically he has it, his breath control is second to none and that's well documented as he used to watch the horn players and emulate them.
Also, having seen the man in concert at the RAH it was one of the most thrilling nights of my life next to seeing Dusty.
