Woke up to hear the sad news that Sir George Martin referred to as "The Fifth Beatle" has passed away. Sir George was a legendry producer in the music world, producing every hit for the Beatles and involved in many other singers and celebrities including our Matt who he said was a super man and a great singer with super star quality and he loved working with him. He had a magic in his voice that's very rare.
Sir George had a rare quality too. It was an honour and a privilege for us to be able to meet him at Micheles Meet-up. A true gentleman.
R.I.P. Sir George Martin

My slow Two finger tapping is the problem Karl

but a sad day none the less and Sir George always came over as a quiet, unassuming man and with his talent and involvement with the Beatles can never be forgotten.

We too were sad to learn of the passing of Sir George. He was a very talented man who worked with many star performers the very best of which was our own dear Matt.
Lena, Sandra and Marian were very lucky to have been at the event where Sir George was and it will always have a special memory for them.

Very sorry to read of the passing of Sir George Martin, a huge talent and an enormous loss to the music industry. I too remember seeing him at the book launch at EMI in 2011.

A hero of mine. I was delighted to meet him at the EMI reception and have a chat and was able to get something signed and present him with a CD direct from the master tapes of his favourite Matt recording the piano demo "No One Will Ever Know" (which he only had on a scratchy old acetate) along with "There are No Words For Love" that he hadn't heard for 50 years and he was delighted. Thsi was before their evetual release on Matt Uncovered. As he was very deaf he probably had to listen quite loudly - Perhaps his neighbours became educated in the ways of the Monro, who knows!
Thanks George.
