Should be 'The Charlotte Church Show-Up!'-is this what passes for entertainment these days?
Watched by accident but when she and Woosie began swearing-switched off! Where do I apply for a TV License rebate?

Didn't watch it Mark, but we take it that the swearing was a fierce contest, knowing these Two.

It was the swearing that put me off this show from the very start, it's so unnecessary. Don't these people have sufficient vocabulary to express themselves without resorting to foul language.

No, it isn't my cup of tea either. I think I watched a few minutes of a show from the first series and turned it off.

I agree with everyone about swearing on TV.
Charlotte and Jonathan would be wise to study footage from the Michael Parkinson show or Sir Terry's chat shows from the 1980's.

They could certainly learn A LOT from the KINGS of chat.
Charlotte and Jonathan probably think that the viewers may like this sort of bad language but I believe that the members of the audience only laugh because they think that is what they should do out of politeness!

We don't watch TV now and believe it or not, we don't miss it at all.
The radio is far better and the good thing is, you don't have to pay a licence for it......well not yet anyway!

You are quite right Hilary. Regardless of the 9.0'clock watershed, it shouldn't mean that everyone has to either listen to this kind of language. or switch your telly off. Audiences, many of them in todays world laugh simply to go with the flow and don't want to appear different or prudish.
The same applies with today's so called controllers and these presenters find themselves getting away with foul words and sayings and so it encourages them to go further. Generally it's for publicity and want to make a name for themselves.

about swearing on television; I'm puzzled by the fact
that performers think it's funny. Kenneth Tynan,
and latterly Billy Connolly, have a lot to answer for.

I agree with all the comments posted here.

I was waiting for Johnny Rotten to say something rather crude tonight on the One Show but he only kind of swore twice, saying b.u.g.g.e.r. on both occasions, which wasn't too bad for him

Yes, we watched that Robert, but we could tell that Andrew Childs was on edge the whole time, and was probably relieved when the show came to an end.

Both presenters were definitely on edge, but apart from the above quote from Robert, Johnny was on his best behaviour.
I think he's got a really nice streak to him really, as he cares a great deal about nature and animals.
I did watch some of 'I'm a Celebrity' when he was on, and apart from shocking Ant and Dec with one offensive word in particular (it would definitely come up as 'none' here) he came across as quite a caring guy.

Charlotte Church epitomises the whole lad/ladette culture that the British nation seems to be so fond of these days. Drinking and swearing are all part of this. When I heard this week that an aircraft on a holiday flight had to declare a 'mayday' and divert due to drunken passengers, I didn't have to wait to be told it was British aircraft, nor was I shocked to hear that it was two women that had caused the commotion.

I had read that those particular passengers wanted to open the doors mid-flight to "get a bit of fresh air" !!! It is frightening what the world is coming too, and stupid actions by one or 2 people, could lead to disastrous consequences.

I think all of us on this forum agree on the behavior and attitude of Charlotte Church. I do not suppose I am the only one to remember her debut on TV--a very shy, pretty young girl, with an amazing voice.

What caused her to change---money?? fame ?? or would she have changed no matter what ??

That is what celebrity is all about now Marian, well most of the new found celelbs..................they just wan't to show off in front of the public, they think they are being very clever ................IDIOTS.

Did anyone read about Jordan being banned from a posh horse do the other day (cannot remember which one).........................for being toooooooooo common which is about right really (even though I feel slightly sorry for her).....................because the ITV2 show Katie and Peter is quite entertaining, on occasions
