Sad to hear of Barry Norman's passing. He was dedicated to his film night programmes and very knowledgable on the subject having interviewed many of the stars.
We were aquainted with his predecessor Philip Jenkinson and his wife Sally through their Autistic son Ben who was housed with our son for several years.
Who remembers when he joined the the many familiar faces from TV who performed "There Is Nothing Lke A Dame " on the Morecambe and Wise show 1973. How could the rubbish dished out on todays TV ever compare to those days. !!

Barry Norman's film programme was always so interesting, many of today's presenters etc irritate. I know this is going in another direction but I can't stand the Go Compare ad's, I mute the sound when it comes on.

Yes that Go Compare ad grates on me too Karl, and also in spite of what we are aware of there is no holding back on what they advertise these days. Often makes me want to switch over or switch off.
