VJ 75 TRIBUTE

Post by karl » Sat Aug 15, 2020 10:40 pm

What a wonderfully moving tribute this was and makes us so grateful for all the military
who gave their lives so as we could live our's.
The actors who spoke, the military musicians who played so well for the outstanding peformances
of Ruby Turner, Bryn Terfel, Sheridan Smith, Willard White and also another young female singer who's name escapes me.
I don't think I have heard of Willard White but what a beautiful voice he has, I now want to seek out
some of his cd's.

I never realised this was on last night, I did watch part of the service in the morning with Prince Charles.
Yes, we have so much to be thankful to them all for.

This was indeed a very moving tribute to remember all those brave people who gave their lives so that we could enjoy the peace we enjoy today.

A few years ago we visited the Arboretum and that too was a very moving experience. If you haven't been it is very humbling to read all the names of the people who are commemorated there.

The young lady who's name you can't remember was Nicola Roberts. She was a member of "Girl's Aloud" and can sing all the other members of that group off the stage! Very much underrated, I was glad to see how well she came over in the programme.
