JUDITH DURHAM (THE SEEKERS)

Post by karl » Sat Aug 06, 2022 9:49 am

Just had a message from Australia saying Judith Durham has passed away at the age of 79.

May she rest in peace.

I was filing away dvd's today, looked up to the top shelf and saw my Seekers 4cd set All Bound For Morningtown,
found a lovely song called Isa Lei which I presume is maybe an Australian or Aborigine folk song.

Always thought Judith was a lovely lady, she survived a serious illness, car crash and the death of her husband.

Devastated to read this. I have been a big fan of The Seekers for many years, The Carnival Is Over is one of my all time favourite song of all time and she recorded many lovely solo albums too. Wonderful voice, unmatchable. Saw The Seekers in Sheffield in 1995 and met them all backstage after the show, then saw Judith in 2003 on her own and again with The Seekers in 2014 after her illness and she sang like a dream, they were all terrific.
Thank you for all the wonderful music Judith. Lovely lady too. R.I.P.
