Just to let you all know that Andy Murray is playing Rafa Nadal in the US Open semi-final (which just about to re-start) on Louis Armstrong Court. I must say, (to coin a phrase used by the legendary tennis commentator Dan Maskell) I never knew there was a court named after Mr Armstrong  you learn something new every day, as they say. On the news tonight they mentioned the US banking/mortgage firms Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.............I'd never heard of those either

Hi Robert,

Well done to Andy Murray for getting through to the final of the US Open.
Just think we could have a UK champion tennis player soon!

I thought that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were film stars!
What great names they are and once heard never forgotten I think.  :D

We will have to wait a while longer to have a male Grand Slam winner Hilary, after Andy Murray gave in a bit too tamely to Roger Federer last night  but he is only 21. The last male Grand Slam winner for GB was Fred Perry in 1936  Virginia Wade won the Wimbledon Grand Slam for the ladies in 1977 :) I remember it well.....................I must be getting old :(
