Did you know Mark that MGM very nearly cast Shirley Temple in the movie role?
Wouldn't that of changed the 'landscape' of the movie!

Sinatra pulled out of Carousel at the very last minute, as he wasn't prepared to film each scene twice, which had to be done for the different size of film negative used for the movie

FAS pulled out quite early on after partly recording 'SOLILOQUY'and a duet of'IF I LOVED YOU'with Shirley Jones.
