To be honest that is the only Orchestra I thought of but looking at google images their band stands look quite different and i think they would have used this design throughout.

Here's a band Matt obviously performed with that I know very little about, but probably you do Michele.
From a 1961 article ..
"Pianist Ralph Dollimore, who led a band at New York's Round Table Club during Matt Monro's season there, has returned from America. "It was a really great band" said Ralph.
Personell included Nick Travis (trumpet with Gerry Mulligan), Bill Barber (tuba with Gil Evans) and Morty Lewis (tenorist formerly with Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman and Tommy Dorsey.)

That's something to think about Marian. We have looked through our Dance Band Days books, and through all our back issues of Memory Lane.
Ambrose used a different design for the A., unless by this time he could have changed it.
There was Anton and his Orchestra, and Alfredo, but we can't see the connection with either of these.
The stage from the Regent Ballroom Brighton from pictures that we have looked somewhat familiar, and of course Harry Leader moved on to Brighton.
If it was in this country (and at that time our guess would be that it was ) Matt looked to be in similar clothes to the other picture, but the answer may come from The British Dance Bands Group or Ray Pallett may recognise the musicians.

any chance it could have been some intonation of Ronnie Aldrich with any of his bands
