SIR ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER'S NEW SEARCH.

Post by mariana44 » Tue Sep 22, 2009 11:45 am

Has anyone else yet read that ALW is searching "Over the rainbow" to find someone to play the part of Dorothy---and they are also looking for a dog to play Toto----I was going to offer Chloe, but I thought that fame would go to her head.!!!

I am really looking forward to that.

By the way, did anyone hear Elaine Paige on Sunday--she played an unknown [to me] song--but the singer's voice was just so beautiful, that I really took notice-imagine my surprise when Elaine said it was Abi Finlay---whose name I recognised from the search for "Maria". I think it was from a new musical in town.

A new Andrew Lloyd Webber show will be really somthing else to look forward to. Marian I was listening to Elaine Paige on Sunday and heard a duet with Linda Rondstatd and James Ingram.... "Somewhere Out There " and couldn't help thinking how much James sounds like Johnny Mathis.
I also heard and enjoyed Abi Finlay sing, and very nice too. :) :)

I do have a cd of James Ingram-but never thought he sounded like JM--but a very nice singer, nevertheless.

I have just read that the original part of Toto was played by a Cairn Terrier--so I may offer Harry's services instead !!
